While research results in interaction design are shared globally, concerns for sustainability are often rooted in local conditions. With the objective of enabling the future generations to design Sustainable Interactive systems the project connects global and local concerns for higher education teaching by the generous funding of Erasmus+.

All participating partners are internationally recognised for their often complementing contributions to Interaction design. Each participating institution brings particular insights on climate challenges ranging from the Artic, University of Lapland to the Atlantic, Tecnico Lisboa, Coastal lowlands Aarhus University, TU Eindhoven to the alps Politecnico di Milano complemented by contributions from associated partner Eli Blevis at Indiana University. Furthermore, the diverse cultures in which the participating institutions are situated will provide much needed nuances to teaching sustainable interaction design.

The key result of the project is a co-designer for educational courses and activities, built on a curated collection of teaching resources and project work. It supports teaching Sustainable Interaction Design (SID) across key interaction-design disciplines, connecting local and global concerns while accounting for diverse cultural preferences.
